Configuring the drive

1. Turn off your computer and remove the cover.

2. Configure the Master/Slave jumpers as approiate for your system. If you have two hard discs, you must configure one as a master and the other as a slave. Refer to the illustrations below for details.

About DiscWizard Software
This Seagate drive is shipped with free Disk Wizard software on 1 - 3.5" disk. This software partitions and formats the drive and allows older computers to access the drive's full capacity.

The Disk Wizard program suite contains the following utilities:

• DiscWizard Application,

• DiscWizard Uninstaller,

• DiscWizard File Copy (for migrating files between drives),

• DiscWizard CD-Update (for updating CD-ROM drive letter designations),

• Seagate 32-Bit Driver (for use with Windows), and

• Disk Manager (to overcome legacy BIOS limitations.

NOTE: 1024 Cylinders may have to be entered into the CMOS parameters unless the drive is being used with a device driver, BIOS, or OS capable of supporting extended cylinders or LBA.
